"One bottle. We're ballers on a budget."
With so many selections, we contacted our dear friend and sommelier, Nancy:
"...so my top three are the margaux, barbaresco, and it's a toss up between the nuits st georges, or the hermitage chapoutier. So I guess that's four...but honestly, you can't really go wrong with any of them. The nuits is from Burgandy, it's going to be earthy, medium to light bodied pinot noir. The margaux is from Bordeaux, it's going to be really earthy, medium to full, rich and juicy. It's abdominal with your typical bordeaux blend of merlot, pertit verdot, and cab franc in the mix. Barbaresco is Italian. You will find more leather notes, minerality, medium to full, and ripe cherries...though all these are hard to know for sure since they are old vintages and have developes in the bottle over the decades. Which one did you end up picking?"
