Grampians National Park

Day nine. Rock climbing at Grampians.

The 168,000 hectare park is renowned for rugged mountain ranges, rich cultural heritage, and breathtaking scene views. In order to reach The Watchtower, follow the main road leading out of Halls Gap (towards Stawell) and turn left onto the Halls Gap (before the bridge). Follow this road until a parking area appears on the left. A path leads up to the cliff, visible through the trees.

Kangaroos are common, although not always easily seen.

Hiked over three minutes. No climbing routes in sight.

Backtrack to the Audi A4 1.8T.

Anchoring at The Watchtower, a wealth of fun routes.

Wildlife cross without warning.

Halls Gap & Mt Rosea.

Provides slabby to vertical climbing on generally good, grey rock.

Pleasant and shady aspect and easy access to The Watchtower.

A crag so close to town.

Dmitri on the Beelzebub (15) 18m.

Duc on the same L-leaning, distinctive corner.

From above with love.

Seda tightly holds on the formerly named Revenge of the Nerds.

Beverly makes some bouldery moves that lead to nice ledges.

Caroline follows the line passing a weird handhold along the way.

Bouldering left of the chimney.

Dmitri looks pretty lively.

Caroline on the Happy Jack (20) 27m.
